Payout Frequency
How often a funded trader can request and receive their share of profits from a prop firm — ranging from weekly to monthly.
What is Payout Frequency?
Payout frequency refers to how often you are eligible to withdraw your earned profit split from a funded account.
Common schedules
| Frequency | Description | |---|---| | Weekly | Can request every 7 days (e.g. every Thursday) | | Bi-weekly | Every 14 days | | Monthly | Once per calendar month | | On-demand | Request any time after minimum threshold |
First payout delay
Many firms impose a waiting period before your first payout — typically 14 or 30 days from funded account activation. This is to confirm the account was genuinely traded and not a manipulation attempt.
Processing time vs. frequency
Payout frequency is when you request the payout. Processing time is how long it takes to actually receive the money after requesting. These are two separate metrics:
- Fast firm: request weekly, receive within 24 hours
- Slow firm: request monthly, receive within 5–7 business days
How Firms Apply This Rule
FTMO: monthly payouts. FundedNext: weekly payouts. Funding Pips: bi-weekly. The5ers: monthly. Apex Trader Funding (futures): weekly.
